We love us some prosecco! It's definitely a cheaper alternative for a variety of reasons. It isn't champagne for one. Proseccos tend to be fruitier, less dry and pairs well with Asian cruisine. Think zi char, sushi, aburi, indian food etc.

Prosecco Superiore was slated to be one of 2018’s definitive drinking trends.  Charcuterie, vegetarian and vegan options and spice-heavy cuisine continue to gain a foothold in homes and hospitality alike. This premium category is well-poised for a takeoff. Easy to pair with any course, from hors d’oeuvres to cake.

Prosecco is made with Glera grapes (Champagne is with pinot Noir/Chardonnay)

The Ruggeri Argeo Prosecco Treviso Brut DOC NV is one of our GO-TO when it comes to busting a bubbly out with friends pre-dinner. This prosecco with made with a small batch of verdiso and Perera. This is a wine you'll want with you on a freaking hot day when you're eating sushi for lunch. Definitely a great drink by the pool.

On the nose it has this floral elegant bouquet  merging into a fruity harmonious complexity with intense aromas reminiscent of golden apple. Don't be surprise if you manage to smell notes such as banana and brioche FRESH, DELICATE, BALANCED on the palate and light in alcohol with a long fruity finish. Perfect as an aperitif, ideal with japanese cuisine, especially sashimi or tempura. Also pairs extremely well with hors-d’oeuvres and light first courses. -$36

Bisol Star Cult Prosecco DOC Extra Dry NV -$38 - is considered to be the grand cru of Prosecco. Their Glera, Verdiso and Pinot Bianco grapes are grown on the steep hills of the Bisol Vineyards in Valdobbiadene. Bisol has blazed its trail straight to the wine market to great success. Widely referred to as the “first family” of Prosecco Superiore, Bisol’s award-winning bottles have dominated Italian sparkling wine sales on shelves, bars and restaurants.

Bisol’s Prosecco is a pale yellow bubbly with a fine and persistent perlage. The nose has fragrant aromas of white pulp fruit, wisteria and acacia. On the palate it is fresh, soft and creamy, with a rich and particularly tasty finish. If you’re in the mood for celebrating, pair with oysters for some aphrodisiac action. If you’re jut couch potato-ing like we are right now, try out some salted potato chips (we are not kidding).
